Use of the Hamel Meeting Room
The Hamel Meeting Room is available to groups or organizations with civic, cultural, recreational or educational purposes, provided that their meetings and programs are open to the public, at no charge.
  • The Trustees encourage ongoing programs to provide compensation to the Library with donations of money, gifts, or services.
  • Use of the Hamel Meeting Room is free, with the understanding that everything is left in proper condition, as found. All doors and windows must be left lockd, lights turned off and all appliances and dishes cleaned and put away.
  • Arrangements for use of the Hamel Meeting Room must be made in advance with the Librarian, and are subject to the approval of the Trustees.
  • Facilities are handicapped accessible, and include the meeting room, kitchenette and rest rooms. Access is through the meeting room door, at the rear of the library.
  • If using the Hamel Meeting Room outside of library hours, arrangements must be made in advance with the Librarian*. *The key must be picked up and signed for in advance (as close to the meeting date as possible). The key must be returned immediately following the program, after locking the meeting room door, by dropping it into the book drop located at the front door of the library.
  • If the meeting is held during regular Library hours, all efforts should be made by all participants to carpool.
  • Light refreshments may be served only if each group brings its own food, cleans thoroughly afterwards and removes any leftovers or other trash from the building. A vacuum cleaner is available in the closet.
  • The furniture must be left as it was found.
  • If the outside lights need to be turned on, a rotary timer switch is located next to the left of the meeting room outside door. The switch is on a timer and will shut off automatically.
  • There will be positively NO SMOKING anywhere in the building, and no alcoholic beverages.
  • Meeting room privileges will be withdrawn upon cause.
