We Love Our Friends!
The Friends of the Tuftonboro Free Library support library services and resources in many ways:

Books Honoring Newborns
The Friends purchase a new children's book in honor of each child born in Tuftonboro during the previous year.  A bookplate commemorating the child's birthday is placed in the book, and a special spine label makes the book easy to pick out on the shelf.  The parents receive a letter notifying them of this gift, and enclosing the child's first library card.

Free Passes
The Friends fund free and reduced-price passes to many local and regional museums and other attraction.  You can check these out with your library card.  This is a wonderful resource for houseguests (especially grandchildren!).   For a complete list, click on  Museum Passes

Book and Bake Sale
This is the Friends' biggest fundraiser of the year, always held on the first Saturday after the 4th of July, rain or shine.  Gently used and carefully sorted books for all ages in all formats and genres, as well as audios, videos, DVDs, and even a few jigsaw puzzles.  Pick up your summer reading, viewing, and listening materials here, as well as delicious homemade baked goods -- all at great prices that support the good work of the Friends.

Annual Program
The Friends sponsor a free public program in August, in conjunction with their Annual Meeting.  FOL programs often feature a New Hampshire author or entertainer.  For more information about this year's Annual Meeting and special program, please see the Events page.

Special Purchases
Since 2000, the Friends have purchased a photocopy machine for staff and patron use, microwave oven, digital camera, refrigerator, shelving, air conditioner, DVD racks, folding craft and meeting tables, a Nintendo Wii, this Web site and two netbooks for patron use!

To join the Friends, please pick up a membership application at the Library, and leave the completed form and payment with us to pass along to the Friends.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND!
