GAMING -- ANY TIME! Well, any time that the Hamel Meeting Room is free. The Friends of the Library have purchased a Nintendo Wii video game set and several popular board games for kids and adults to enjoy. So...if you have a yen to bowl -- or golf, or play carnival games, or race cars, or rack up a triple word score, or find Miss Scarlet in the conservatory with the knife -- all without leaving the comfort of the Hamel Meeting Room, then come on down -- Wii would love to see you!!
No registration necessary for any of these programs, and drop-ins are most welcome. For all evening programs when the library is closed, please use the Hamel Meeting Room entrance in the back.
KINDLE IS HERE!
Check out the latest in technology!
Thanks to the generosity of Tom and Barbara Hall, TFL is the proud owner of a Kindle 2, and only the second library in New Hampshire to circulate this intriguing new wireless reading device!
The Kindle is loaded with a wide range of titles, from Clive Cussler's Corsair and UR by Stephen King (written exclusively for the Kindle), to the newest bestseller from Jodi Picoult, Handle with Care. Patrons can also (re)discover classics like Pride and Prejudice and Treasure Island, as well as humor, romance, fairy tales, short stories -- even a cookbook and a dictionary.
It's easy to adjust the type size for personal preference, or to select the text-to-speech option if you'd prefer to be read to -- you can even choose a male or female voice, and control the speed of the speech -- this little device is really amazing!
The Kindle circulates for one week at a time. To give it a whirl, call 569-4256 or e-mail us to reserve.
